INTERNATIONAL

AYURVEDA SEMINAR

Focal theme: Emerging Challenges in Health Care and a Resurgent Ayurveda

The International Ayurveda Seminar is the central component of Global Ayurveda Festival. It is an ensemble of scholars from all over the world, the student community and policy makers for one common cause – expose and exchange knowledge, for a wider and impactful reach of Ayurveda. The Seminar is planned to enable the contemporaneity, that needs to reflect in what we think, write, speak and do in Ayurveda. As said by the Masters, only that knowledge which can be constantly renewed and relived, the application of which can be constantly reshaped and developed continue to be of any significance to mankind. Everything else remain as historic monuments. International Ayurveda Seminar is a tribute to those Masters who constantly renewed while remaining loyal to roots that run deep in antiquity. As in the previous episodes, this time too, the world will see and listen when GAF shows and speaks Ayurveda.

This episode of GAF- IAS will project the concepts, strengths, possibilities and accomplishments– related to clinical, integrated medicine and research – in selected themes, like Women Health, Child Health, Diabetes, Liver Disease, Ophthalmology, Mental Health, Geriatric Care, Palliative Care and Post Care.

This set of themes will be represented in a well-structured manner, meant to enable a responsible globalization of an effective Indian medical tradition. The contribution Ayurveda has to offer as a medical science, in meeting the challenges posed in these areas of health care, will be explained from the perspectives of scholars, practitioners, researchers, integrated medicine experts and policy makers. The structure of the whole program is planned to have a continuity and conclusion in each day’s deliberations.

Plenary Sessions
Under each theme there will be a plenary session that will focus on knowledge exposition and translation – practical and experience-based exposition of classical knowledge and on history and possibilities of translation of above traditional knowledge, integration from an integrated medical perspective and globalization to present the scope and steps for expanding Indian healing traditions to optimize the global healthcare.

Special Sessions on Accomplishments And Perspectives
Then there will be a special session on accomplishments and perspectives -presentations on accomplishments – research / practice – in the respective theme and of the perspectives of senior Ayurveda experts on what was heard in GAF-IAS, aided by their knowledge and wisdom.
